Early Bird (EB) Program Rules:

  1. EB hours of operation is Monday to Friday from 6:30am – 8:30am.
  2. You (Members and Guests) must be registered in the EB online system (HoldMyCourt) to play early bird tennis.
  3. EB members are encouraged to coordinate match play via the on-line system and use the Partner Search function, EB Coordinator or OGTC Staff can be used after best efforts have been made.
  4. EB Members can initially sign-up for two sessions per week which will allow for more members access to EB play.  If courts are still available then EB members can play more than two sessions per week.
    • Procedure: EB members will sign into online system on Monday to Friday one week prior to play to make court reservations.  On Saturday and Sunday of the same week EB members who want to book additional court time for the following week will be allowed to do so.  See example below:
      • Week 1 (Monday to Friday) – EB members can sign-up for two play sessions for the following week.
      • Week 1 (Saturday and Sunday) – EB members can sign-up for additional court time if courts are available.
      • Week 2 (Monday – Friday) – EB members can sign-up for additional court time if courts are available.
  5. EB members must cancel reservations in a timely manner to allow others to have access to the court.  If you book a court and don’t show up and don’t give notice that you need to cancel in a timely manner you will be prevented from booking a court for the next 7 days.
  6. Doubles play will take precedence over singles.
  7. Court 2 should be used as the singles court to allow doubles to be played on courts 1 & 3.
  8. Guests (non OGTC members) must be registered in the HoldMyCourt system to be granted access to the courts.  OGTC members will have  priority over the courts and guests will be required to pay a guest fee.
  9. EB members must sweep courts immediately after play.

On Line System – HoldMyCourt:

Signing in or Registering

  • On the Court Reservation Page, click on “Sign In or Register” at the top left of the page.
  • If you are already registered, sign-in using your email address and password. Click on “Sign In“, then continue with “Reserving a Court”
  • If you have not previously registered, fill out the “New Registration” form. This form must be filled out completely.
  • Click on “Register.” Your password will be emailed to the email address you entered.  Check your email for the password. There are tips on the page in case you don’t see the email.
  • When you receive the email enter your email address and password in the “Sign In” form at the top of the page. Click on “Sign In(Please check your spam folder if email does not come into your inbox)
  • If you have followed the instructions above and you never receive the email with the password for your new HoldMyCourt account email Andrew Dubin, Early Bird Coordinator at ardubin@gmail.com.

Reserving a Court

  • Click on the day you would like to reserve a court, in the day menu bar.
  • Times available will be shown on the Calendar.
  • Click on the time of the court you would like to reserve.
  • Select the day and 6:30am slot.  The system is setup to reserve the court for 2 hours.
  • Click submit.
  • Your registered name will now appear on the calendar on the day and court you selected.
  • If you need to cancel or change the reservation, click on your name and then click DELETE this reservation.

After you register you can change your email, password and phone

  • Sign into the reservation system
  • Click on Change Profile
  • Edit the items you wish to change

FAQs for Players
How do I register?

Got to the reservation page that is provided by your club. On the reservation page, click on the link labeled Sign in or Register
If the registration form has a box for Club ID, you must get that from your local club before proceeding.
Fill in the form for a New Registration. Make sure that your email address is correct so that you receive the password.
Click the Register button. A password will be automatically emailed to your email address.
How do I sign in?

On the reservation page, click on the link labeled Sign in or Register
Fill in your email address and password, then click the Sign In button.
If successful, the reservation page will appear and Signed in as your name will be highlighted.
How do I make a reservation?

Click on the date of the reservation, then click on an open link corresponding to the time and court number of the desired reservation. Submit the reservation form. If you are not already signed in, you will be taken to the sign-in page instead.
I registered but did not receive a password in email.

If you don’t see the email, check your spam or junk mail folder.
Check you spam settings to make sure that they are not set to instantly discard suspected spam.  Put service@holdmycourt.com in your contacts list. That will lessen the chance that an overly aggressive spam program will treat the email as spam.
If your email provider enables you to have a white list and black list, make sure that service@holdmycourt.com is in the white list and did not accidentally get put into the black list. If none of that works for you, ask the local manager of your reservation system to generate a new password and give it to you by phone or email.

Forgot Password?

If you enter the wrong password or leave it blank, you will receive a prompt to have the password emailed to you.

Can I change my password or email address?

Yes, when already signed in, click on the link labeled Change Profile. Use a password that is not used for any other purpose.
How many advance reservations can I make?

How do I cancel a reservation?

Go to the date of the reservation, then click on the link that has your name or the label that you gave to the reservation. A page will be displayed with options to edit or delete the reservation. You may only delete your own reservations unless you are an administrator.

Is it possible to display more than one day at a time?

Yes, one of the links below the heading is labeled Multi-View or Single View. When signed in, the number of days to display can be changed on the Profile page. The number of days to display might be limited by your local administrator. The feature works best for a relatively small number of courts so that scrolling is not needed.
Is it possible to show fewer courts on a narrow screen?

Yes, the profile page has an option to divide the display into two separate views. The lower view will display the number of courts selected. The upper view will display the remainder. Your local administrator might have set a default number of courts in the lower view. Your personal setting will override the default.

NTRP PLAYER RATING SCALE:

1.0 This player is just starting to play tennis.
1.5 This player has limited playing experience and is still working primarily on getting the ball into play.
2.0 This player needs on-court experience. This player has obvious stroke weaknesses but is familiar with basic positions for singles and doubles play.
2.5 This player is learning to judge where the ball is going although court coverage is weak. This player can sustain a slow rally with other players of same ability.
3.0 This player is consistent when hitting medium pace shots, but is not comfortable with all strokes and lacks control when trying for directional intent, depth, or power.
3.5 This player has achieved improved stroke dependability and direction on moderate pace shots, but still lacks depth and variety. This player exhibits more aggressive net play, has improved court coverage and is developing teamwork in doubles.
4.0 This player has dependable strokes, including directional intent, on both forehand and backhand sides on moderate shots, plus the ability to use lobs, overheads, approach shots and volleys with some success. This player occasionally forces errors when serving and teamwork in doubles is evident.
4.5 This player has begun to master the use of power and spins and is beginning to handle pace, has sound footwork, can control depth of shots, and is beginning to vary tactics according to opponents. This player can hit first serves with power and accuracy and place the second serve and is able to rush the net successfully.
5.0 This player has good shot anticipation and frequently has an outstanding shot or attribute around which a game may be structured. This player can regularly hit winners or force errors off of short balls, can put away volleys, can successfully execute lobs, drop shots, half volleys and overhead smashes, and has good depth and spin on most second serves.
5.5 This player has developed power and/or consistency as a major weapon. This player can vary strategies and styles of play in a competitive situation and hits dependable shots in a stress situation.
6.0 These players will generally not need NRTP rankings. Rankings or past rankings will speak for themselves. The 6.0 player typically has had intensive training for national tournament competition at the junior level and collegiate levels and has obtained a sectional or national ranking.
The 6.5 player has a reasonable chance of succeeding at the 7.0 level and has extensive satellite tournament experience.
The 7.0 is a world class player who is committed to tournament competition on the international level and whose major source of income is tournament prize winnings.
